Samsung Electro-Mechanics (SEM), CyberLink, and Siano Mobile Silicon have just announced their new product, SuwonExpress. SuwonExpress is an ExpressCard that can provide laptop users with mobile digital TV (MDTV) programme. It is based on Siano’s MDTV SMS1000 receiver chipset and SEM’s ejectable antenna. According to the press release, features include support for four spectrum bands and support for standard mobile TV modes - DAB, DAB-IP, T-DMB, DVB-T, and DVB-H. Retail package will be bundled with a complete multi-standard mobile TV software suite from CyberLink, including Electronic Service Guide, a TV playyer, and a recorder. The next CES (Consumer Electronics Show) 2007 in Las Vegas if you want to see the SuwonExpress Mobile Digital TV solution in action. |

Sanyo has just announced its first weatherproof LCD TV, the 42-inch 42LM4WPN model. To stand from any unconditional environment, the TV comes with an anti-reflective, tamper-resistant glass to emit crystal clear HD signals that can work even under the rain. It also complies to the IP56 weather resistance standard already, just like those military gadgets used to be. One highlighted feature is the PJ-NET organizer. It allows users to use the 42LM4WPN LCD TV as a computer monitor without additional driver / software, so one can take advantage of the TV to browse the internet or play some games. Regarding specs, it has a resolution of 1366 x 768, a brightness of 500cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 800:1, a viewing angle of 178 degree, and a response time of 8ms. It is also equipped with a VGA, HDMI (HDCP-compliant), RGBHV (BNC), component, composite, audio out, and an RS-232 serial port. |

 Samsung has just unveiled a 22-inch LCD TV called CX225MD. The company claimed that this display supports 1080p Full HD resolution, however, the specs said that it has a resolution 1680×1050. Typo? Or simply a stupid mistake by this big company? I don’t know, but for sure, a display must have at least 1920×1080 resolution to support Full HD. Well, anyway, Samsung also mentioned that the “HDTV” is 100% compatible with your PC. |

 Optoma recently presented the white-glossy data projector EP771 in the Korea market. Adopted 0.7-inch DMD chip and 5-segment color wheel, including yellow color, the projector features a resolution of 1024 x 768 (XGA), a contrast ratio of 2300:1, a brightness of 3000 ANSI, and a noise level of 28dB in power-saving mode. Incorporated the company’s exclusive coating technology and gamma adjustment system, the TI DDP3020 chipset inside the projector can guarantee a smooth and natural images delivery. Users will be also glad that they now can replace the lamp easily and without accidentaly damaging the lens, thanks to EP771’s Sliding Door mechanism. |

NEC Display Japan has just unveiled two new member of its Multeos series LCD TV, the Multeos M40 and M46. The M40 model obviously has 40-inches width display, but the M46 gets a 42-inches one instead. Both HD-ready LCD TV feature a resolution of 1920 x 1080, a brightness of 450cd/m2, a contrast ratio of 1200:1, a viewing angle of 178 degrees, and a response time of 16ms. These two units are equipped with a 15W x 2ch onboard speakers as well. Price is set to 672,000 Yen ($5700) for the M40, while the M46 model will be retailed for 924,000 Yen ($8000). NEC has planned to release both LCD TVs on the market in January next year. NEC Multeos M40 and M46 LCD TVs can also be used for professional display purpose. With a single computer, one can connect up to 5 x 5 displays using the RS-232C cable for remote management. |
