Antec has just presented a new portable laptop cooler called Notebook Cooler S which looks way much cooler than the one I have for my iBook. By connecting the device onto your notebook’s USB port, it will blow direct cool air through its two fans across the base of the laptop. Not just it will prevent overheating, it will also increase the life of laptop batteries. The cooler itself claimed to take only a little power, and there’s also an option between maximum cooling and minimum noise operation. Along with the cooler, Antec also released NP-100, a high-capacity notebook power adapter that increases the life of laptop batteries. According to the press release, it could prevent frequent short-term battery draw caused by underpowered adapters in peak usage conditions, thus increasing the overall laptop stability, reduces heating, and extends the life of notebook computer batteries. Furthermore, NP-100 Laptop Power Adapter includes several safety features, such as Over Voltage Protection (OVP), Short Current Protection (SCP), Over Current Protection (OCP) and Over Temperature Protection (OTP).
Antec Notebook Cooler S is currently available for $35, while the NP-10 Laptop Power Adapter can be purchased from $80 starting from January 2007. [ Press ] |
