Acer officially announced their new Aspire 9800 notebook in the North American market today. This is definitely not a mobile notebook as it comes with a 20.1-inch display screen and a giant size of 18.7" x 13.9" x 2.4" and weight of 17.1 lbs. It is powered by Intel Core Duo T2600 2.16GHz processor running on Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition. The 20.1-inch sports a WSXGA TFT LCD which comes with CrystalBrite technology and 200 nit brightness. Other features such as 2GB DDR2 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 graphic card with 256MB, 240GB 5400RPM HDD (120GB x 2) and Super-multi DVD burner. On the connectivity side, it never missed out the integrated 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN, AV-in, S-video, TV-out, TV-tuner and DVI-D with HDCP support. I thought this would be a gaming notebook but too bad the graphic card included is not powerful enough to boost an amazing graphic. Acer Aspire 9800 is now in the market with the base configuration price of USD2,800.
