VDO Dayton M5700 - GPS Navigation In Your Rear View Mirror |
|
Thursday, 14 September 2006 |

The MS5700 from VDO Dayton is a cool GPS navigation system which displays navigational route on a car\'s rear view mirror. Drivers can see the maps on a 4-inch screen right on the left hand side of the mirror. This method is much handier that common in-car navigation devices which are installed on the dashboard, \'cause you can check both the route and the traffic behind you as well. The mirror itself is capable of displaying map in a 4:3 ratio and equipped with built-in speaker, infrared sensor, and several dedicated buttons on the front for adjusting the brightness and the volume. The MS5700 Rear View Mirror GPS is actually a combination between VDO Dayton\'s PC5700 - somekind of navigation engine which contains the GPS chipset and a DVD drive for reading the whole Europe\'s maps data supplied on the CD - and the MM2100 - a special rear view mirror which has a high-tech monitor embedded behind. These two devices are connected through a single cable hidden inside the mirror’s arm and runs up through the roof and down to the navigation system’s computer.
