CNET reviews the Samsung SGH-D407, and writes about the phone's VGA camera: "If you're an avid camera phone fan, the picture-editing options won't disappoint. The SGH-D407 offers a 4X zoom, four image-quality settings, a brightness control, seven color effects, 29 fun frames, a self-timer, multi- or mosaic shot modes, and an option for flipping the image's orientation. You also get a wealth of photo sound options, but you can turn them off altogether. The camcorder takes clips in two resolutions (176x144 and 128x96) with sound. Videos are limited to 44 seconds, and editing options are similar to those of the still camera. Photo quality was what you'd expect from a VGA camera; images were grainy and colors didn't pop. It does the trick overall, though, especially if you're just looking to take on-the-spot shots for multimedia messages." |

Built-in media player: The merging of 3G and entertainment
Here’s where next-generation functionality really gets exciting. Being EV-DO enabled, the A920 is like having a mini-TV in your hand. Sprint TV offers a variety of audio or video channels depending on your choice of plan–sort of like basic cable to premium cable offerings. Plus, you have the option of buying individual channels offering unlimited access for a monthly subscription fee.
Music
The MM-A920 features an embedded MP3 player and is Sprint PCS VisionMusic Store-compatible providing over-the-air downloads of high-quality full digital songs. The external music control keys offer easy access to your favorite selections. The A920 comes with a stereo headset and has dual stereo-speakers and a SanDisk 32MB micro SD/TransFlash card expandable to 512MB. The sound out of the handset speakers is really quite impressive. Just in time for holiday music lovers, the Samsung MM-A920 embeds an MP3 player with external music navigation controls to offer access to hundreds of songs stored on TransFlash memory cards up to 512 MB in size.

DigitalTrends reviews the Samsung MM-A900 and finds the lack of expandable memory hurts the phone's capabilities. About the phone's camera: "On the camera side, the A900's rotating lens enables a wider variety of shooting angles, although we found self-portraits problematic -- we always appeared upside-down in the viewfinder for some reason. Picture quality is above average for phones with a 1.3 megapixel resolution and a plastic lens. The flash helps a bit in dim lighting conditions."
