MobileBurn reviews the Samsung SGH-P858 and comments on the phone's camera: "The camera looks good on paper: 3.2 megapixel CCD with autofocus, which is about the best in the market you can obtain today, though its actual performance might be slightly disappointing. Don't get me wrong, you still get all the fancy adjustments such as ISO sensitivity (100, 200, 400, auto), and you can set effects, turn the self timer and flash on, make use of preset white balance and even choose among matrix, center-weighted, or spot metering exposures. However, in actual practice, these gadgets only manage to make minimal impact to the overall image quality. The shutter lag is a whooping 4 seconds including auto-focusing (which is not especially accurate by the way). No manual focus can be performed, which makes it extremely difficult to take macro shots. The closest I have ever gotten was 5cm with more than five attempts. |
