If you are looking for a better way to grow vegetables or other plants, then you should to build a raised bed. This is great for small plots of veggies and flowers. They keep pathway weeds from your garden soil, prevent soil compaction, provide good drainage and serve as a barrier to pests such as slugs and snails. Raised garden beds come in different forms and shapes and can benefit all people. It can be setup almost anywhere, regardless of soil quality, and with less effort than digging. Now you can find many kits at out there that designed for you to make building a raised bed as easy as possible. Beside that, most gardeners find that raised beds are easier to maintain and promote better plant growth.
Raised garden beds can be constructed directly onto concrete or paving if this currently exists where you wish to build your garden bed. There are several style of garden beds that you can choose, they are box style, table top style, clay pipes and many more. Remember that treated pine should be avoided for building raised garden beds due to the chemicals used in the treatment, because the chemicals can come off on hands and can leach into the soil. So, be careful, don't use the wrong materials. |
